Figure out ways to incorporate new technology or software updates to the information technology systems you’re already working with. Your willingness to work outside of the office will determine your success.
Know your clients’ needs. As an information technology professional, you’ll have a far greater understanding of the field than your clients. Some of your clients might not even be able to describe to you what they need. Understand how to talk to people, and figure out what they need you to do. You’re still in the business of serving others.
